Acai Drinks - Acai Superfood Contains Flavonoids

You may already know that  acai drinks or acai superfood contain an abundance of good constituents. However, did you know that amongst these are flavonoids? To those who are unfamiliar with flavonoids, they are natural chemicals found in the acai fruit as well as some other fruits. Flavonoids aid in cardio-vascular health. They lower cholesterol levels by preventing the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins (“bad” cholesterol) to help to prevent blood vessel rupture and leakage by keeping your arteries clear.

Flavonoids also intensify the power of vitamin C. As everyone already knows, your Vitamin C helps reduces the length of colds in children and adults. We've also seen studies where adults who take Vitamin C have better eye health. There are far fewer eye problems such as cataracts and glaucoma in those who have Vitamin C on-board. Therefore anything that would help with the enrichment of this Vitamin is seen as a bonus by most professionals.

We also hear a lot about inflammation. Flavonoids defend cells from oxygen damage and they prevent extreme inflammation throughout your body.

Flavonoids also may play a role in the prevention and treatment of the following conditions:
    Gout Diabetes
    Candida infection Asthma
    Macular Degeneration Cataracts
    Migraine Varicose veins
    Periodontal disease Stomach ulcer
    Stomach ulcerAllergy

So what are the signs you may not be getting enough flavonoid-containing foods? Do you have evident bruising?Persistent nose bleeds? Immense swelling after injury? Recurrent colds or infections?  Reminder: always check with your medical provider to be safe. But your nutritionist is likely not to object if you are drinking an acai smoothie to help cover your flavonoid void.
